Biography

Dr. Xu obtained his PhD degree from Australian National University (ANU), and his PhD thesis is entitled “Cost-Aware Resource Allocation and Provisioning in Cloud Networks”. Before joining ANU, he received his Bachelor and Master degree from Dalian University of Technology in China in 2008 and 2011. He was a Research Associate at University College London (UCL) from 2016 to 2017.

His research interests include mobile edge computing, serverless computing big data processing, network function virtualization, cloud computing, software-defined networking, machine learning, algorithmic game theory, and optimization problems. Dr. Xu has published over 140 high-quality papers in top venues, such as IEEE/ACM ToN, IEEE TPDS, IEEE TMC, IEEE TC, ACM TOSN, IEEE INFOCOM, ICDCS, SECON, ACM MM, ICPP, and etc. His research is funded mainly by many projects including EU H2020 projects, NSFC China projects, and industry projects from Alibaba, Sangfor, and etc. He is the “Youth Research Star” of Dalian City, “Xinghai Scholar” of Dalian University of Technology.
